The app asks for an account on first launch: that is what starts the fourteen-day trial. How the trial works
Install
One warning, just once.
MAPAERO is not yet notarised by Apple or signed for Microsoft, and is not yet on the Play Store. Your system will flag it on the first install: here is how to carry on. Later updates install without any warning.
Mac
Open the .dmg file and drag MAPAERO into Applications. If macOS refuses to open it, go to System Settings › Privacy & Security, then click Open Anyway.
Windows
Run the installer. If Windows shows Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
Android
Open the downloaded .apk file. Android asks you to allow your browser to install apps: accept, then come back. On Android 7, enable Security › Unknown sources.
Updates
Install once, stay current.
On Mac, Windows and Android, MAPAERO checks for a new version at startup and offers it to you. One click installs it, and your flights stay where they are. Nothing is ever installed during a flight.
Charts and the AIRAC cycle are updated separately, from within the app. No need to come back to this page.
